Headlight Condensation & DRL Repair
Water droplets or fogging inside your headlight? Condensation is usually caused by failed seals, blocked vents or a small crack letting moisture in. Left alone it can corrode the reflectors and cause electrical faults or an MOT advisory. We open the unit, dry it out, replace the failed seals and vents, then re-seal and pressure-test it so it stays clear.
Signs of a condensation problem
- Misting or fogging on the inside of the lens
- Water droplets or a puddle inside the unit
- A DRL or bulb that’s failed after getting damp
- Corrosion or discolouration on the reflector
What causes headlight condensation
Most condensation comes from perished seals, blocked or missing breather vents, or a hairline crack in the lens or housing. Once moisture gets in and can’t escape, it keeps coming back until the unit is opened, dried and properly re-sealed.
Our condensation & DRL repair
We open the headlight, dry it fully, replace failed seals and vents, repair or replace failed DRL tubes, then re-seal and pressure-test the unit so it’s watertight. It’s far cheaper than a new headlight and keeps your original parts.
